Active lobby work for funding and support

Since its inception, NOTaS has been an effective lobbyist. By joining forces, universities and companies are able represent their industry in discussion with national and European governmental institutions.
NOTaS board members and participants play an active role in national and European institutions such as:

  • STEVIN, the joint Dutch-Flemish programme for Essential Speech and Language Technology Resources for Dutch.
  • ELRA, the European language resources agency for language engineering and to evaluate language engineering technologies
  • CLARIN, the European initiative to create a research infrastructure of language resources and its technology to facilitate e-humanities
  • CLARIN-NL, the Dutch CLARIN branch
  • ISO, the International Standards Organisation, for the definition of standards for semantic annotation for language resources
